For general information only For reasons both legal and otherwise, some people wish to enter into non-legal, but emotionally binding relationship. All churches/ministers listed on this site are happy to conduct a commitment ceremony even if it is not recognised by law. This includes same-gender couples. The purpose of such a Ceremony is to make a public declaration of life-long commitment, love, and dedication between two people. The occasion can be shared with family and friends or the ceremony can be held in private without guests. Every Commitment Ceremony is unique. Working within the Ceremony framework, couples create their own unique celebration by selecting words, poems and readings that hold a special meaning for them. The venue, number of guests and involvement of other guests are also chosen by the couple, creating, in all, a very meaningful and personal experience.
